CapsWriter-Offline is currently guaranteed to run perfectly only on Windows 10/11 (64-bit). It requires the VC++ runtime library to be installed. Linux and MacOS are not officially supported due to underlying library limitations and system permissions.

Can CapsWriter-Offline use my GPU for acceleration?

Yes, the Fun-ASR-Nano model supports GPU acceleration for both Encoder (DirectML) and Decoder (Vulkan). However, for integrated GPUs or low-performance systems, CPU processing might be faster. You can enable or disable GPU acceleration in the config_server.py file.

How do I use the LLM role system in CapsWriter-Offline?

To use an LLM role, simply say the role's name at the beginning of your speech (e.g., "Translate, today's weather is good"). The tool will then pass the recognized text to that specific role for processing, such as translation or text refinement. Roles can be configured to use local Ollama models or online API keys.
