AnomalyGPT is the first Large Vision-Language Model (LVLM) based Industrial Anomaly Detection (IAD) method, designed to identify anomalies in industrial images without requiring manually specified thresholds. Unlike existing IAD methods that only provide anomaly scores, AnomalyGPT indicates the presence and location of anomalies and offers descriptive information about the image. It leverages a pre-trained image encoder and a Large Language Model (LLM) to align IAD images with textual descriptions using simulated anomaly data. The tool employs a lightweight, visual-textual feature-matching-based image decoder for localization and a prompt learner to provide fine-grained semantics to the LLM, fine-tuning the LVLM using prompt embeddings. AnomalyGPT can also detect anomalies in previously unseen items with minimal normal samples.
