It introduces a minimalist approach by repurposing a plain Vision Transformer (ViT) to jointly encode image patches and segmentation queries as tokens, eliminating the need for complex adapters or decoders. This results in a significantly faster model, up to 4x faster with ViT-L, while achieving accuracy comparable to state-of-the-art methods. eomt supports various segmentation tasks including Panoptic, Instance, and Semantic Segmentation, and offers support for DINOv3 backbones for improved performance. It also extends its philosophy to video segmentation with VidEoMT and provides PMT for image and video segmentation with frozen vision encoders.
