OWOD (Open World Object Detection) is an innovative AI tool designed to address the challenge of identifying unknown object instances in environments without explicit prior supervision. This solution allows models to incrementally learn new categories as corresponding labels become available, without forgetting previously learned classes. Presented as an oral paper at CVPR 2021, OWOD introduces a novel problem formulation, a robust evaluation protocol, and a unique solution called ORE (Open World Object Detector).
