The Pioneer Centre for Artificial Intelligence (P1) is dedicated to fundamental AI research, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to develop platforms, methods, and practices that tackle significant societal challenges. Hosted by the University of Copenhagen’s Department of Computer Science, P1 collaborates with Denmark’s Technical University, IT University of Copenhagen, Aalborg University, and Aarhus University. The center organizes its research into seven collaboratories, covering areas such as Networks and Graphs, Speech and Language, Signals and Decoding, Learning Theory and Optimization, Extended Reality, Causality and Explainability, and Fine-Grained Analysis. P1 also offers various programs, projects like YODA (Yearning to Operationalize Democratic AI), and opportunities for researchers and students.
